Committees
In order to carry out all the projects that Kiwanis is involved with throughout the year, each member is asked to join one or more committees.

Club Meeting Committee & Spiritual AimsThis Committee arranges guest speakers for 3 meetings per month. It also arranges inter-club meetings with all other clubs in the Division and organizes club member events, including the annual holiday party. It also assists in weekly luncheon set-up and take-down, 50/50, happy/sad dollars, collection of meal payments, and payment to the restaurant.None
Community Services/Youth Services CommitteeThis Committee recommends which charitable activities to support in the community, whether by donating money or by organizing club members’ involvement in an activity. The Committee evaluates, organizes and promotes how Kiwanis will be involved in the Community. Finance/Budget CommitteeThis Committee is responsible for developing a 2005-06 budget recommendation to the Board of Directors by October 30, 2005 Board meeting.None

Fund-Raising CommitteeCommittee Chair - responsible for organizing and chairing regular and ad hoc meetings (at least monthly); reporting activity to members, president, and the Board of Directors; and recruiting and organizing committee members and volunteers.None
Gala Ball CommitteeCommittee Co-Chairs - responsible for organizing and chairing regular and ad hoc meetings; reporting activity to members, president, and the Board of Directors; recruiting and organizing committee members and volunteers; organizing the recruitment of major sponsors; organizing all public relations and adverting; and coordinating with the Black Point Inn.Laura Bustin, Tammy Rosario
Lunch Wagon CommitteeThis Committee is responsible for running the lunchwagon, including deciding which events to attend, securing Board approval, and overseeing necessary improvements. None
Membership CommitteeThis Committee is responsible for enlisting new members, maintaining active membership, and encouraging attendance at weekly meetings and scheduled events. It also inducts new members and provides information about the club and Kiwanis International.None
Nominating CommitteeResponsible for meeting in April 2006 to evaluate and nominate new members to serve as officers and Board of Directors for the following year.None
Public Relations/Website CommitteeThis Committee is responsible for publicity for Scarborough Kiwanis, including press releases and photos to local papers. It also oversees the Scarborough Kiwanis website by providing updates, adding appropriate information, and training “web masters.”None
Service Leadership Programs Committee (formerly SpThis Committee supports and promotes sponsored activities in the local schools, including the Scarborough and South Portland Key Clubs (high school), Scarborough Builders Club (middle school), and K-Kids (Wentworth Elementary School). It also organizes and supports the Terrific Kids program in the primary schools.None
