21sth Annual Kiwanis Kids Fishing Derb Each year for the past 21 years, the Scarborough Kiwanis Club has hosted a Fishing Derby for Kids. For the past several years, it has been held at Bayley's Camping Resort off the Pine Point Rd. It a day of fishing for the kids and a great day of spending time with your family. We offer many prizes for kids who catch the biggest fish in each age group. Sharon Binette
Operation Cupid The Scarborough Middle School Builders Club, Scarborough High School Key Club, and the Kiwanis Club of Scarborough are working together to raise money for Operation Cupid. Operation Cupid was a program that began last year by a group of middle school students. The program involves sending 150 bags with miscellaneous snack items, Valentine cards, and phone calling cards to the 152nd Maintenance Company of the National Guard. These Maine soldiers have been stationed in Iraq for the past year. Our hope is to provide each soldier with an international calling card so that he/she can call a loved one during Valentines Day. We are asking that friends, families, and neighbors in our community help in our effort to bring those far away a little closer to home on Valentines Day. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. At the high school level, we sponsor two Key Clubs - one at Scarborough High School and one at South Portland High School. At the middle school level, we sponsor a Builder's Club at Wentworth Middle School. Jim Damicis
